Long-time Fox News host and former White House press secretary for President George W. Bush revealed a health “incident” live on the air in a segment with her doctor.
During the segment, Perino was joined by her co-host Bill Hemmer and her “trusted doctor” Arash Akhavan. Hemmer led with, “Dana, my partner, just had an incident.”
She said that she met Akhavan a couple of years ago after she found a spot on her forehead. “I was concerned,” she said. Though she did not specify what the exact condition was, she did say that she received treatment and that she “got ahead of it.”
But then Akhavan may have given the condition away by noting that when it comes to skin cancer, “prevention” and “early detection” are the two best measures for treatment.
“In your case [Perino], we were able to detect things early and take care of it before it became a real issue,” said the physician.
Perino lauded praise on her make-up artists for being able to conceal the spot while she was being treated
“The makeup artists were very good, covering it up all the time,” she said.
May was skin cancer month, and the Skin Cancer Foundation noted: “1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70.”
The organization added: “More than two people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour.”
Akhavan, a dermatologist, discussed how prevalent skin cancer is: “There is more skin cancer diagnosed in the United States every year than all other cancers combined.”
“I always tell my patients, ‘Look for the ugly duckling.’ If one of the spots doesn’t match the other spots, bring that to the attention of a board-certified dermatologist,” he said.

When asked about getting a little color on your skin from the sun, he said, “If your skin is getting enough UV exposure to cause a tan, then it is getting enough UV exposure to cause DNA damage that can lead to skin cancer and promote aging.”
Meanwhile, Fox News and its associated networks continue to undergo tumultuous changes in the wake of Tucker Carlson’s dismissal in April.
In the latest move, Fox Business is canceling the long-running show “Kennedy,” which airs at the 7 p.m. EDT slot, and will instead, for now, air reruns of former Trump administration economist Larry Kudlow, according to Broadcasting & Cable.
The report said that Lisa Kennedy Montgomery will remain at Fox News, where she will be a recurring figure on “The Five,” “Outnumbered,” and other shows.
“Fridays are also seeing a change at Fox Business, with Wall Street Journal at Large with Gerry Baker no longer in the 7:30 p.m. slot, and Barron’s Roundtable moving into that slot. Barron’s Roundtable is currently on Saturdays at 10 a.m. Baker will continue to contribute to Fox News Media,” the report added.
The Fox Business Network ends each broadcast day with reruns of COPS, new episodes of which currently air on Fox’s streaming network Fox Nation.

“Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st, Fox News said, meaning Carlson did not get a chance to sign off to his viewers. The news comes days after Fox News reached a historic 11th-hour settlement with Dominion Voting Systems for over $787 million,” Axios reported.
